ANTIGUA Y MODERNA

Antigua y Moderna was founded in 2019 by Kristin Ditlow. Its purpose is three-fold:

• to promote Baroque performance practice in New Mexico and the Southwest 

• to give young composers a voice and opportunity for premieres and workshops 

• to afford young professional singers and instrumentalists more training in Baroque and Contemporary repertoire, improvisation, stylization, and performance practice.

Starting in 2020, Antigua y Moderna will be launching its Young Artist Programme. This is geared towards emerging and young professionals who seek further opportunity in Baroque role-preparation and role-study. It will offer chances to study this music and its challenges intensively and will culminate in serial released online performances.
